Last week we had Jump Rope for Heart. The weather was gorgeous and everyone had a fantastic time skipping as well as some other fun activities. We were lucky enough to get to spend the whole day with Room 5.
At our assembly on Friday some people in our class were lucky to receive some awards. Ruby and Taytum both received their Silver Librarian Award and Dontaye received the Skoolbo trophy for answering over 10,000 answers on Skoolbo. Maui also got an award, he got the Caught Being Good certificate, but unfortunately he wasn't in the room when we took the photo. Well done to these people, and sorry Maui about the photo.
After two failed attempts (spring weather is so unpredictable!), we finally managed to have our Athletics Day on Thursday 10 November. It was a hot day but our class was on their best behaviour. Everyone got to compete in a field event and a track event. The day ended with the inter-class relay. Room 13 WON the Year 4 race! Well done to our great representatives: Moana, Sarai, Horouta and Elijah. You did so well!
During Term 3 we were learning how to code using a program called Scratch. Everyone learnt lots of skills that helped them make their first ever computer game. In Term 4, we will be learning more skills (both problem solving skills and computer programming skills) and will be able to do more complex things. In the meantime, here is a small sample of the games we made. Feel free to have a play with them (use the arrow keys and space bar to move the rockets). Visit the students individual blogs to see some more!
